Latest update 2020.10.09
Class delivery plans have changed with a new email from HUFS Oct. 9th.
Under this latest change, weeks 7 and 8 will be trial operation of the Switch 1 system (more info below). I will be in the classroom during class times weeks 7, but I will also continue to run classes on Zoom. All exams and classes being held during exam week will be via Zoom.
After week 9 (Oct. 27th) attendance under the Switch 1 system is required. That means that students whose ID number end in an odd-numbered digit attend classes on odd-numbered weeks (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) and students whose ID number ends in an even-numbered digit attend on even-numbered weeks (2, 4, 6, 8,10).
You may attend class in the classroom under the odd-even alternating system starting Oct. 13th (week 7). After Oct. 27th (week 9), classroom attendance under the odd-even alternating system is required.
Most of my classes are large enough for alternating attendance by week.
The only classes on my schedule in which all students may choose to be in the classroom every session starting Week 7 are GSIAS English starting Wednesday, Oct. 14th ; and Career Development from 1 to 3 p.m. starting Monday, Oct. 19th. Students in these classes will be required to attend class in the classroom after Oct. 27th, as things now stand.
Those dates may look confusing, but this semester began on a Tuesday, Sept. 1st. Week 7 begins Tuesday, Oct. 13th and ends Monday, Oct. 19th. Week 8 starts Tuesday, Oct. 20th, and ends Monday, Oct. 26th.
I will be on campus every day I have classes beginning Week 7 (Oct. 13th~), in our Zoom rooms for all classes, and am available by email for any questions.
As always, students with health or other concerns that make attending class a problem should not attend class. If you have any questions or concerns about our class plans, please let me know.
